Show Notes

Today Sarah describes the steps she’s taking to perform self-care. Susie asks Sarah if moving to Colorado is her version of cutting bangs. She explains what it’s like for her when she sees people who need therapy, but she can’t intervene. Sarah discusses how some people (mostly women) don’t acknowledge (or even realize they have) sadness, and why she suspects men make matters worse. She describes the dark underbelly of the dad joke, and why sometimes good intentions aren’t good enough. Susie points out how when you say you’re “just joking” that the “just” is doing some heavy lifting. Sarah lists 5 ways you can tell if your dad is neglecting you. Plus, Susie interviews Karen Grassle who played “Ma Ingalls” on Little House on the Prairie about her new memoir, Bright Lights and Prairie Dust.
